Billy Connolly will be using a NASA-style cooling suit under his hobbit armor during the filming of additional scenes in New Zealand.

The 71-year-old comedian, who played the role of dwarf warrior Dane Ironfoot, had faced considerable discomfort while filming scenes two years ago but the personal air conditioning system, which is developed for astronauts to regulate the temperatures in their space suits, will resolve the issue, the Daily Star reported.

The scenes being shot are for continuity in footage already shot for the final part of the Tolkien trilogy 'The Hobbit: There and Back Again' which co-stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Cate Blanchett and Orlando Bloom and is scheduled for release on December 12.
