Prestige of senior BJP leader Gopinath Munde is at stake
Its the battle of 'Guru' and 'Shishya' in Beed in which consolidation of Maratha and Muslim votes are going to prove crucial to decide the phase of former deputy chief minister Gopinath Munde and his one time disciple and now foe Dr Suresh Dhas.
The top Nationalist Congress Party leader including the party supremo Sharad Pawar and his nephew Ajit Pawar has made it a prestige issue to humble the BJP stalwart in his own turf.
The Lok Sabha constituency has six assembly segments and five of the MLAs belong to the NCP while alone Parli seat is represented by Pankaja Palwe-Munde, Gopinath Munde's daughter.
The NCP, this time has fielded one time Munde's disciple maratha candidate Suresh Dhas, who was earlier in BJP and make a switch over to NCP and become minister of state while Aam Aami Party has nominated actor Nandu Madhav.
Notable independent candidates include Naveed-uzzaman, a senior NCP leader who has filed his papers as an independent candidate may dent NCP's votes.

On allegation of Rs 70,000 crore irrigation scam, Mr Pawar said actually Rs 70,000 crore were expenditure on various irrigation projects and on employees' salaries of irrigation division, but the opposition had alleged frequently against him.
The NCP leader said he also told Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan to put the inquiry report on website and if he was guilty in irrigation scam, he would go to jail but would not tolerate any false allegation against him.
Actually BJP gave candidature to a former Chief Minister in Karnataka, who was involved in corruption charges and their MPs were also taking money for asking questions in Parliament.
On other side, BJP's partner Shiv Sena's position in the state was very bad as their many senior leaders, MPs deserted the party.
Hasan Mushrif, Labor Minister, Satej Patil, Minister of State for Home, Vikramsinh Ghatge, K P Patil, Mla and NCP district president, Malojiraje, former Mla ,Sunita Raut, Kolhapur Mayor and other senior Congress and NCP leaders, along with large number of the people were present.
