Foolproof security in Vadodara as Modi to file papers tomorrow
The authorities have put in place a foolproof security cover in Vadodara as Gujarat Chief Minister and BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi will file his nomination papers from the Lok Sabha seat tomorrow.
A police official today said tight security has been put in place for Mr Modi in view of Intelligence agencies inputs about a possible attack on his rallies and other programmes during election campaign.
Before the filing of nomination, the BJP's PM candidate will hold a road show in an open jeep in Vadodara which will start from Kirtistambha and reach at Collector's office.
Four SPs, 10 DSPs, 50 inspectors, 150 sub-inspectors, 950 jawans, four companies of State Reserve Police (SRP) and about 200 women police personnel will be deployed during Mr Modi's road show. The police carried out rehearsal this morning to ensure full-proof security measures.
Mr Modi will reach at Vadodara airport around 0930 hrs where he will be welcomed by the BJP workers. He will file his nomination papers at 1100 hrs.
The police have banned entry of vehicles and parking on Mr Modi's route tomorrow from 0700 to 1300 hrs.
According to the BJP sources, Mr Modi's road show route will be Kirtistambha-Rajmahelroad-Nyay Mandir-Padmavati shopping centre-Gandhinagar gruh-Collector office.
However, the Police has also kept in mind alternative routes for the road show if there is any need.
This will be the first road show of Mr Modi during the on-going general elections.
Besides Vadodara, Mr Modi is also contesting from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh.
