Three months after being elected as the country's executive head, Nepal's Prime Minister Sushil Koirala Monday inducted three more members into his 21-member cabinet.

With the expansion, the number of ministers reached 24, Xinhua reported.

Sunil Thapa of Rastriya Prajatantra Party took oath as the minister for commerce and supplies while Giri Bahadur KC was sworn in as the state minister for the same ministry.

Nilam KC, a leader of the Communist Party of Nepal- United Marxist-Leninist (CPN-UML), was sworn-in as minister for women, children and social welfare.

Sunil Thapa is the son of former prime minister Surya Bahadur Thapa and Nilam KC is the spouse of CPN-UML general secretary C.P. Mainali.

Prime Minister Koirala had been under fire for failing to expand the cabinet for a long time.

Koirala is yet to appoint ministers for defence, peace and reconstruction and science and technology.

The prime minister is also due to appoint 26 members of the Constituent Assembly.
