Modi woos voters trading dreams of Rajasthan
BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi today traded dreams with the voters saying they should ensure installation of a government that could realise the dreams of Rajasthan.
Addressing election meetings in Ratkudia(Pali) and Jayal (Nagaur), Mr Modi hit hard at the Congress led Government at the Centre, saying this government did nothing for catering to the water needs of people in desert areas.
He also branded the present government as 'anti-soldier and and anti-farmer'.
"Congress Government in Delhi did nothing to provide you water, it only makes false promises, never works to keep them," the Gujarat Chief Minister said addressing an impressive gathering in Ratkudia.
"You need a government that could understand your need and realise the dreams of Rajasthan," he said.
Addressing a fairly good crowd of rural people, at Jayal in Jat dominated Nagaur district, Mr Modi said during the decade-long regime, the Congress led Government did nothing for farmers and soldiers. In apparent references to suicides by farmers and killing of the army men by Pakistan, the Gujarat Chief Minister said over the past 10 years this Government has toed the approach and attitude of 'Mar Jawan-Mar Kisan'(let soldiers and farmers die).
Contrary to this, the BJP and its governments have always worked for farmers, Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje during the previous regime of the BJP Government had brought water for the people of Nagaur district, Mr Modi reminded the people.
Targetting the UPA Government at the Centre for its all round failure, the BJP leader questioned "what did they do in Delhi in 10 years".
Congress could not keep any of its commitment made to the people, he said. Training guns at Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, Mr Modi said "what did the Shahzada do in 10 years, he had nothing to do with the Government in Delhi".
Over the Congress leader's 'towering claims' about commitment to the country, he said "those who could not save the Congress, how would they save the country".
He also reminded the people about 'Congress's misdeeds' during the emergency when the then government had converted the country into a big prison.
It Ratkudia, he also slammed the Congress for being Nehru-Gandhi family centric and alleged this
(Congress)party believes that the power is like ancestral property.
He also made reference to alleged land scams by Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra.
Claiming a big win for his party, Mr Modi said departure of this government from the office after the election is a foregone conclusion.
