Bharatiya Mahila Bank today announced its plans to open 57 new branches across the country by March 31, 2015, taking the total number of branches to 80.


Currently, the bank, which was launched on November 19, 2013, has 23 branches across the country.

The country's first women bank was conceptualised with a vision of Empowering Women economically and is wholly owned by the Indian government.

It was incorporated under the Companies Act, 1956 and received the final license from RBI at the end of September 2013.
