Regional parties are not an alternative at Centre: Naidu
Former BJP president M Venkaih Naidu today said the regional parties cannot be an alternative at the Centre and claimed that the BJP and its allies will get 300 seats to form a decisive, dynamic and development-oriented government under the leadership of Narendra Modi.
Mr Naidu, who arrived here on a whirlwind tour to western and southern Odisha for electioneering, told newspersons that the third front was a 'mirage' and non existent while the so called Federal Front was not viable as there were as many as seven prime ministerial aspirants and the people have a bitter experience of the coalition governments in the past.
Mr Naidu said the BJP will do much better in South India as the TDP has come to the NDA fold adding that and as per poll analysis the BJP and its allies, which were ahead in 250 Lok Sabha seats at present, will reach the 300 strength during the election to form a stable government at the Centre.
He also ruled out any post poll alliance with other regional parties stating that the present alliance is quite capable of securing absolute majority in the Lok Sabha.
The people, Mr Naidu said, have realised that the corrupt and scam ridden Congress had betrayed them during the last ten years by not fulfilling the election promises.
Mr Naidu predicted that the Congress will be confined to the double figure in the 2014 elections and this time the people will put an end to the dynasty rule which will be a good trend in Indian democracy.
The Congress, he said, has become untouchable to several parties as it had miserably failed to adhere to the alliance dharma during its tenure, he pointed out.
The BJP leader lambasted the Naveen Patnaik government in the state stating that it had failed to fulfil even the basic needs of the people despite ruling the state for past 14 years.
The BJD government, he further said, was deep in corruption and scams and failed to utilise the central funds and check rising atrocities on women.
He said the BJP will do better in Odisha in the Assembly election as the entire country was now looking towards the BJP and there was a Modi wave across the state who is synonymous with 3Ds-- decisive, dynamic and development oriented.
Mr Naidu said people of Odisha should think that the BJD can not give an alternative at the Centre and appealed to the people to send maximum number of BJP candidates to the Lok Sabha.
The former BJP president will address election meetings at Rayagada, Gunupur, Parlakhemundi and Jeypore during the day.
