Indira Gandhi's assassin son seeks support from Akal Takht Sant Sama
Sarabjit Singh Khalsa (36), son of Indira Gandhi's assassin Beant Singh, who is contesting election from Fatehgarh Sahib (reserve) constituency from Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) today appealed to Akal Takht Jathedar and Sant Samaj to support him in Lok Sabha elections which is sechduled to held on April 30.
Talking to reporters here Mr Khalsa said though he is contesting election from BSP his father had laid down life for Sikh community and Akal Takht had declared his father martyr so the Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh should extend all type of help to him in contesting Lok Sabha election .
He said his similar appeal is to Sant Samaj chief Baba Harnam Singh Dhumma. Sarabjit who belongs to Schedule Caste category said he feels BSP is true party of Dalits and only BSP chief Mayawati can take on Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
When asked his views on Shiromani Akali Dal(Amritsar) president Simranjit Singh Mann's party, whom he had associated with long time, he had different ideologue and now people are not ready to accept this. He said Mr Mann could not change himself according to time.
Sarabjit, a resident of Mohali, who is 10+2 had unsuccessfully contested Lok Sabha election in 2009 from Bathinda and Punjab Assembly election from Bhadaur in 2007 from SAD(Amritsar) alleged Punjab is facing various problems today due to poor policies of present government.
