Senior Congress leader and former Deputy Speaker Bir Devinder Singh today warned Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia to learn about Congress leader Capt Amarinder Singh and his contribution towards the nation before making any comments.

Reacting to Majithia's statement asking where was Capt Amarinder when bullets were flying in Punjab, Bir Devinder remarked, "Majithia's statement comes from ignorance as he seems to have read no history".

Bir Devinder told Majithia, unlike many leaders who took shelter in the safe custody of the government guest houses after having stage managed their arrest, Capt Singh worked on the field.

He reminded Majithia about Capt Singh's stay in Amritsar during 1965 Indo-Pak War as an ADC to Lt Gen Harbaksh Singh. He said, Capt Singh rejoined the army to face the enemy as otherwise he had already taken premature retirement,

He further said Bikram who was not even born at that time does not know that it was Lt Gen Harbaksh Singh with Capt Singh as his ADC who had held down his foot and stayed put at Amritsar and not relocated to Beas in the wake of severe enemy assault. He said, had they not done so Amritsar might have been with Pakistan and so would be Majitha.

The senior Congress leader advised Majithia to avoid commenting on such issues when he had no knowledge of history or at least learn before making such comments les he makes a fool of himself.
