Former Chief Minister and Congress candidate from Amritsar Capt Amarinder Singh today used strong words to attack Arun Jaitley, his BJP opponent for Amritsar Lok Sabha seat.

''Desperation and frustration appears to have got better of Jaitley and now he has shown his actual mentality and mindset,'' he said in a press release.

Responding to Jaitley's attacks in his campaigning, Capt Amarinder, remarked, ''Yes I am proud of my legacy which I inherited''.

''At the same time let me tell you I have been in the public life for the last 47 years and I have contested elections and won and lost them unlike a man who has hidden behind his mask and always routed his entry through the backdoor,'' he added.

Taking a dig at Jaitley's charge of relying on ''feudal instrument'', the former Chief Minister suggested that he (Jaitely) should look at his Akali patrons like Parkash Singh Badal and Sukhbir Singh Badal, who have feudalised everything in the state from politics to economics. ''As far as what I have done for Punjab I need no certificate from an alien like you (Jaitley) and I think your patrons must have already told you as I feel it below my dignity to trumpet what I did for Punjab,'' he told said, while adding, ''in case they have not told you or you still have not understood, the people of Amritsar will tell you on April 30 what I have done for Punjab.''
