Advani heaps praise on Modi, says he is the next PM
While heaping praises on Gujarat Chief Minister and BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, Party's Veteran L K Advani today asserted that he will become the next prime minister of the country after the upcoming general elections to be held on April 30.
Addressing a 'Vijay Viswas rally' before filing his nomination papers from Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency here today, Mr Advani said the country will get its deserving position under Mr Modi's leadership.
"On May 16, when election results will come, I am sure that Narendra Modi will become the prime minister of the country. He is an amazing person with excellent management skills. I am sure that he will implement these skills during his prime ministership," he said.
His government will make India a developed nation which is free from corruption, price rise and other problems, Mr Advani added.
Terming the upcoming Lok Sabha polls as the most special and the most different, Mr Advani said it is the first such election where the voters have already indicated their mandate.
"The elections are unprecendented as there is no doubt in the minds of the voters about the result. The Congress-led UPA government at the Centre will not remain in power after the polls. They have lost the will to fight and win."
Mr Advani accused the UPA government of denigrating the post of the prime minister.
"The biggest crime of the UPA government is not only rampant corruption but there was also devaluation of the prime minister's post. This was done by the Congress in pre-planned manner to make their party chief Sonia Gandhi the supreme boss of the government," he said.
