Suspended deputy commissioner of Divisional Caste Verification Committee (DCVC) at Nashik was today arrested by the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) for allegedly being in possession of assests that were disproportionate to his known sources of income.


Talking to UNI, ACB deputy superintendent of police Suresh Wankhede, said the then DCVC deputy commissioner, Dattatryya Wakode had amassed assets worth Rs 41,90,584, which were 37.95 per cent more to his legal sources of income during his service from 1984 to 2012. In this regard, a complaint was lodged against him.

Based on the complaint, an ACB team from Aurangabad raided Wakode's residence here at Tirupathi Vihar locality and arrested him, said Mr Wankhede.

A case has been registered against Wakode and his wife Janai with Mukudwadi police station under Sections 13(1)(e) and 13(2) of 1988 ACB act, the DySP added.
