Dempo eyeing for full points against Mumbai FC
Buoyed by their brilliant performance against defending champions Churchill Brothers, Dempo sports club yet looking for another win over lowly placed Mumbai Football club in the i- league football championship match to be played here at Nehru stadium fatorda tomorrow.
Dempo at the movment placed4th in the league table with 31 points. While lowly placed Mumbai FC needs to bounce back and desperately needs wins to improve their points position to avoid relegation.
In the last match Mumbai edged out Shillong Lajong by 2-1 and hoping to continued with same spirit tomorrow. Both had played out 1-1 draw in the first leg clash Dempo Sports Club are on a glorious run in 2014 winning five of their six matches since the re-start of the I-League. But the Australian coach knows that Mumbai FC will be extremely difficult opponents.
'All week we have spoken about how tricky a fixture this could be if we are not at 100% in every part of the game,' said Papas.
Dempo will look for their ninth win of the season, a result that will keep their chances of a top-five finish very much alive.
'Mumbai FC are a tricky team. We must be 100% concentrated and focused to negate their threats and to also keep playing the positive football we have been doing of late,' Papas said .
Although the odds are in favour of the home team as Mumbai FC are yet to win a match against them at Fatorda in the I-League, the Mumbaikar's will be arriving fresh from their away win against Shillong Lajong and a draw against East Bengal in the earlier round.
Mumbai FC stunned Shillong Lajong in the last match, although playing away, but the quality of Khalid Jamil's team was always there to see. The Mumbaikars have frustrated several opponents with their doggedness and are likely to cause similar problems to Dempo.
