Tributes paid in memory of those killed in building crash
Hundreds of people from Shil Phata, including a large number of ladies, today paid rich tributes to those who lost their lives in the April 4, 2013 building crash in the Lucky Compound.
The people who took out a candle light processing assembled at the very site where once the Adarsh-B building was situated and which crashed at about 1720 hrs on the ill-fated day, bringing down the seven stories.
As many as 74 people lost their lives in the worst ever tragedy of the decade and more than 60 injured, some of them seriously.
Locals took out a procession and paid floral tributes to those dead this evening.
The event, which lasted for about half and hour was lead by the local leader and former MLA and Shiv Sena Deputy Chief Subash Bhoir.
Maulanas from the locality offered prayers and religous chants were and presented during the half an hour mourning session.
Incidentally, Shil-Phata has now become the prime locality in Thane with a number of renowned construction houses launching their housing schemes in the belt, leading to Kalyan.
NCP Dr Cell Maharashtra Pradesh General Secretary Dr Shafique Ahmed Shabnam, Social Worker and former MLC Subash Bhoir, Maulana Jameel Khan,Maulana Rizwan Qasmi and NCP Kalwa Mumba President Shamim Khan Panche attended the event.
