BJP all set to form government at Centre: Naidu
Stage is all set for formation of a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government at the Centre with prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi at the helm, party senior leader M Venkaiah Naidu, today said.
Speaking at a meet-the-press programme 'Dilli Chalo' organised by the Calicut Press Club, he said this would be possible with the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) winning more than 300 seats in the forthcoming general election in the country.
The party alone could grab about 250 seats, the MP said quoting reports from states.
Stating that the trend was clearly towards the BJP, he said entire discussion was revolving around Mr Modi, who would be able to solve the burning issues of the people.
Comparing the general election in the country to Presidential polls in the US, he said people, media and parties were focusing on the issue of leadership.
He said the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance, the so- called third front and the federal front were diffident and had already conceded defeat as they were unable to name their prime ministerial candidate.
'People have a right to know who will lead the nation and who is going to take reigns of the country after the polls,' he said, adding the BJP was clear on this point by projecting Mr Modi as prime ministerial candidate with its motto 'stable country, able leader' whereas other parties had no clue about it so far.
