Congress to order CBI probe into all major scams during Naveen regime
The Odisha unit of Congress today said all major scams involving thousands of crores in the Naveen Patnaik government will be handed over to the CBI and promised to review all the Memoranda of Undrstandings(MoUs) signed by the BJD government during the last ten years.
Releasing the party manifesto here, OPCC President Jaydev Jena said the inquiry of the various major scams like dal scam, water scam, land scam, mining scam and chit fund scam would be handed over to the CBI for an impartial and speedy probe.
He said steps would be taken to auction the property of the chit fund organisations to refund the hard earned money of the depositors who have been lured by the chit fund companies.
The mining lease would be given only to the state owned companies and not to any individual or private organsiation, Mr Jena said, adding that all the mining lease granted in favour of the private organisations or individual would not be renewed.
The Congress if voted to power would also reconsider all the MoUs signed by the BJD government to provide water to various business and industrial houses and construct special reservoirs to provide water to the industries
The OPCC President said the recommendations of the M B Shah Commission would be implemented in letter and spirit and Rs 60,000 crore looted by the mine mafias would be returned to the state exchequer after auctioning the property of the mine looteras.
The manifesto also promised to declare every revenue village as a panchayat.
In addition to it Mr Jena also announced a series of sops for every section of people including farmers, teachers, students, unemployed youths, women and sports persons.
