Modi attacks Congress on women atrocity
BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi today launched a blistering attack on Congress and its president Sonia Gandhi being ahead in terms of women atrocity wherever they rule.
Addressing a mammoth public meeting in favour of BJP candidate Hansraj Ahir from Chandrapur, Mr Modi said, Congress-ruled states are ahead in regards to women atrocity in the country.
'Seven out of ten states being ruled by Congress have stain of women oppression, while BJP-ruled states are out of the list,' he said.
Mr Modi said UPA government, in the last budget, had announced fund of whopping Rs 1,000 crore for 'Nirbhaya Scheme' which was for women security but did not spend a single rupee out of it.
'Madam Sonia is misleading people, in particular women in the country. Papers' game alone will not help protect women,' he said.
Further talking about the Congress he said they have forgotten tribal people, adding that the Atal Bihari Vajpaiee government had formed a ministry for them.
He also slammed the Congress-led UPA government for being apathetic about farmers and sought a separate administration for them.
'The Congress has done nothing in past 10 years of its rule. People of this country will teach Congress a tough lesson in this elections,' he claimed.
He also appealed to the red rebels (naxals) to put down their guns.
