Audi India, the wholly owned subsidiary of German automobile manufacturer Audi, today reported an increase of 27 per cent in its total sales at 1,404 units in March 2014 as compared to 1,104 units in the same month last year.


''Audi India was the only manufacturer in its segment to pass on the full benefit of the excise duty reduction to the customer. The customer has appreciated its gesture as shown by the March sales result,'' Audi India Head Joe King said in a statement.

The company's total sales during April 2013 to March 2014 increased by 8.29 per cent at 10,126

UNIts as against 9,350 units in April 2012 to March 2013 period, it said.

It has registered a sale of 2,740 units in the January-March 2014 period as against 2,616 units in January-March 2013 period, a jump of 4.7 per cent, it added.

The company became the first luxury car manufacturer in the country to achieve the double feat of crossing sale of 10,000 units in a financial year as well as in a calendar year, it said.

''The double achievement of selling 10000 units in a single financial year and calendar year validates the strength and stature that the brand has achieved in India,''

Mr King said the company will expand its dealership to 40 across India by the end of this year.

''We intend to reach our customers across India and plan to expand our dealership network to 40 by the end of this year,'' Mr King added.
