Odisha BJP announces slew of incentives for students,youths, farmers
The Odisha unit of the BJP today released its election manifesto promising to provide incentives to students, youths and farmers of the state while striving for according special category status to the state as soon as possible.
Senior BJP leader B B Harichandan and party's General Secretary Dharmendra Pradhan said BJP will double the irrigation potential of the state in the next five years, provide free electricity tariff to the agricultural sector, Rs 300 bonus on the minimum support price of the paddy and interest free agricultural loan to the farmers for the first year.
They said, the party will fill up all the vacancies from Primary school to University level and government departments besides the hospitals, provide interest free loan to students on the basis of economic condition, double the stipend of the SC and ST students and provide employment allowance to unemployed youths.
Mr Harichandan said while unemployed skilled youths would be provided Rs 500 as monthly employment allowance, the unskilled unemployed youths would be provided a monthly employment allowance of Rs 1000.
The Party, he said, will relax the age limit for the government job and increase the entry age from 35 to 40 years. About 40 lakh youths in the Self Help Groups would be provided employment opportunities, while Women Self Help group would be given financial assistance to the tune of Rs 5 lakh.
The manifesto promised to establish an Odia University for the development of Odia language and announced to enforce the 1954 Act for making Odia the compulsory administrative language in the state.
