Australian leg-spin legend Shane Warne may reportedly have given some impromptu advice to South African spinners ahead of their ICC World Twenty20 semi-final against India in Dhaka on Friday.

Warne, who has become a TV commentator after his retirement, had met the South Africans during their net session on Wednesday and was seen in conversation with the primary South African spin-bowling weapon, leg-break specialist Imran Tahir.

According to Sport24, veteran batsman Hashim Amla said that they were all surprised to see Warne during their practice session, adding that probably the former player was bored at his hotel and came over to 'have a bowl'.

The report mentioned that Warne sent down a handful of deliveries to Quinton de Kock and stood behind the stumps watching the team's spinners Tahir, JP Duminy and Aaron Phangiso bowl, adding that he also chatted with bowling coach Allan Donald, leading to speculation that Donald had invited him for a helping hand.

The report further said that Tahir, who is the leading wicket-taker in the tournament, would be a vital element of South Africa's plans to fight fire with fire in the spin department against the Indians.
