Naveen responsible for acute poverty in Odisha-Rajnath
BJP President Rajnath Singh today held the Naveen Patnaik government which ruled Odisha for last 14 years responsible for the acute poverty in the state.
Addressing an election meeting here, Mr Singh said the state is reeling under acute poverty due to misdeed and misrule of BJD government headed by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik which indulged in deep corruptions like mining and Chit fund scams.
He said Biju Babu was a freedom fighter and a great man but his son Naveen Babu has been unable to keep his image and ideology. The BJP, Mr Singh said, believes in progress and prosperity and committed to upkeep the equity and integrity of the country.
The BJP, he said, has projected a capable, an ideal and progressive Chief Minister Narendra Modi as the future Prime Minister of India adding that what the BJP can do for people of the country has been proved in BJP ruled states like tribal populated Chhattishgarh and Gujarat.
Mr Singh also attacked the Congress government at the Centre for indulging in corruption to the tune of at least 5.5 lakh crores. The Congress, he said, had already ruled for about 55 years after Independence but there was no tangible achievements.
The inflation, he said, has gone up alarmingly only due to its misdeeds, misrule and endless corruptions. But during Bajpayee ji led NDA government, it was under control for six years, he reiterated.
Mr Singh said if BJP will be voted to power both at the Centre and the state, a new era will start in the history of the country. Several schemes will be introduced for the welfare and development of the unemployed youths, farmers and in the sector of agriculture.
The BJP president appealed to the voters to cast their votes in favour of BJP candidate for Kandhmal Lok sabha seat Sukant Panigrahi and all the BJP contesting candidates for seven assembly segments under Phulbani Lok sabha constituency.
Earlier at Bhawanipatna in Kalahandi district while addressing election meeting, Mr Singh attacked both Congress at the Centre and BJD government at the state for their non-performance and involvement in various scams.
He said the Congress has ruled the country for 55 years and BJD in the state for last 14 years, yet the place like Kalahandi is still one of the backward regions in the country due to negligence and non-performance.
The BJP president said if 10 years are given to the BJP, then there will be a sea change and development in all sectors.
Odisha goes to polls on April 10 and 17.
