Hitting back at Uddhav Thackeray's comments that he would never be given entry into the NDA by the Shiv Sena, Union Agriculture Minister and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar has said that Uddhav's comments are 'joke of the year' and should not be taken seriously.

"I will say this is the joke of the year. I knew the late Balasaheb Thackeray closely. He was a mature person. But Uddhav is making irresponsible statements, which is why his organisation is being cut down to size day by day," Pawar said.

Pawar while addressing a rallies in the Vidharba region of Maharashtra, said Uddhav lacks vision and criticised his leadership.

Meanwhile, escalating the war-of-words, Pawar called Raj 'more charismatic than his cousin Uddhav' and pointed out movement of young party workers from the Shiv Sena to MNS. Pawar said, "Raj is like Bal Thackeray in style of thinking and working. He has more mass appeal and the capacity to deliver than cousin Udhav."

He however clarified that there was no possibility of a government formation with the MNS saying, "there is no question of allying with MNS."
