BJP's prime ministerial candidate NarendraModi today said he is a team player and believes in takingdecision collectively while rejecting a ''notion'' that he is anauthoritarian person and has attempted to make his party a one-man show.

The Gujarat Chief Minister, during an interview to a private TV news channel, said, ''How can one take important decisions alone. This is not possible. The secret of my success is that I don't take decisions alone. I am a team player.''

Mr Modi also recalled his association with party's ideological head RSS and said he is not in politics just to become prime minister but to serve the people of this country.

He said, ''Ï am high indebted to the RSS. Its ideology appealed to me since my early days. The RSS taught me to be grounded and that service to humanity is the biggest service to God.''

Mr Modi said the meticulous training that he received as RSS worker has made his extremely disciplined, focused and has greatly shaped his life.

The Gujarat BJP leader stressed that for him politics was never an ambition but a mission to serve the people of this country.

Ever since becoming the party's prime ministerial candidate, Mr Modi has gone all guns blazing on the Congress-led UPA government for its failure to curb inflation, series of scams unearthed during its tenure, black money and its direction-less and weak foreign policy.

He has listed job creation, skill development, enhancing farm produce, industrial production, healthcare, reservation and empowerment of women and stepping up security measures as his top priorities during his election rallies.

Terming the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls an 'election of hope', Mr Modi said he wants to rid the nation of bad governance, vote bank politics, dynastic rule, corruption and misuse of constitutional institutions which were 'nourished' by Congress governments.

Mr Modi has repeatedly said the 'biggest crisis' facing the nation is that people have lost confidence in Congress and in the institution of the Prime Minister because of its inept and anti-poor policies.
