West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee today said their Trinamool Congress would emerge as the third largest party after the Lok Sabha polls and play a vital in theformation of the government at the Centre.


Talking to reporters at Dum Dum airport before flying for Agartala in Tripura, the All India Trinamool Congress chairperson said they were confident that the party would emerge as the 3rd largest party after the elections.

She maintained that after the poll results were declared the AITC would play a big role in the formation of the government at the Centre.

After her Tripura trip for the day for poll campaign, Ms Banerjee would also visit Guwahati on Wednesday for electioneering there.

The AITC has fielded candidates for all two seats in Tripura.

Ms Banerjee called upon the voters to elect AITC candidates as many as possible so that the party can play a major role to defeat Congress,BJP and CPI(M) in forming a government.
