Two terrorists have been killed in an ongoing encounter with police and security forces in Jammu region on Tuesday.

According to sources, on specific inputs encounter raged early in the morning when security forces launched search operation in Ghatti Khatus district of Jammu province.

Police official said that two militants were killed so far and hunt is on for two more militants, believed to be hiding in the area.

The identity of the slain suspects has not been ascertained so far.

Authorities have closed the Jammu-Pathankote highway for vehicular traffic as a precautionary measure.

The encounter comes four days after three militants were killed at Dayalchak and Janglote on Friday.

IGP Kumar said, "The militants struck at 5 am in Dayalachak area and hijacked an SUV near Tarnah Nullah on the Jammu-Pathankot national highway."

"The hijacked SUV was found on the highway in Janglote," he said, adding that they attempted to enter the Army camp but alert troops fired back, eventually neutralizing them at 7.20 pm.
