Skipper Brendon McCullum mashed 65 runs as he helped New Zealand beat Netherlands by six wickets in World T20 match here on Saturday.


Chasing Netherlands' 151 for four, New Zealand reached 152 by losing four wickets with one over to spare.

McCullum smashed four boundaries and three sixes in his 45-ball knock.

Netherlands gave the Kiwis an early blow by picking up the wicket of Martin Guptill (9) with 14 runs on the scoreboard.

Kane Williamson remained the second top scorer for New Zealand with his 29.

He hit five boundaries in his knock.

T van der Gugten remained the pick of the Netherlands bowlers as he picked up three wickets by giving away 30 runs in his four overs.

Earlier, riding on Peter Borren's 49 and Tom Cooper's (40) Netherlands, who had put up a poor show against Sri Lanka earlier int he tournament, posted 151 on the scorecard.

For New Zealand, Kyle Mills, Trent Boult, Nathan McCullum and Mitchell McClenaghan picked up a wicket each.
