Amalin Datta, son of muralist Alokemoy Datta and revivalist fashion designer Sharbari Datta, on Friday launched his debut couture creation with his label 'Amalin', here, showcasing the synthesis of embroidery print and dye on silk coupled with abstract motifs in natural figurative touches.


Also present at the launch was his mother Sharbari Datta along with personalities like Indrani Halder, Locket Chattopadhyay, Alokananda Roy, Cactus frontman Sidhu and many more.

The 'Amalin' collections were showcased by celebrated models like Indrani Dasgupta, Satarupa Pyne, Ushoshi Sengupta, Sona Goldar and Pallavi Das along with the actress Raima Sen, who was the showstopper of the night.



The show was presented and choreographed by fashion guru Prasad Bidappa.

Speaking on the occasion, Sidhu complemented the "understated opulence" that was the essence of the design of Amalin Datta, whereas Alokananda Roy heaped praise for the work of the fashion scion.

She said that Amalin, hailing from a fashion designing background, will have the advantage over creativity and will bring a new era in fashion for women.

The designer himself stated his aim of making women the center of attraction.



With a work experience of twenty years, Datta was confident of his originality in bringing out the blend of eastern and western ethnicity.

He expertise in Tassar, Raw Silk, Khadi, Jamewar and Banaras brocade has been blended with complicated graph technique.

As the show started, the models wearing Amalin attires wooed the crowd enlivening his art.

Raima Sen scorched the ramp in an Amalin ensemble, leaving the crowd asking for more.

Raima Sen also complimented Datta's work on the basis of style and fittings and wished him luck for his forthcoming ventures.
