Google reportedly requires all Android manufacturers to display "powered by Android" logo on boot screens.

The company is apparently following in the footsteps of rival company Samsung, which recently launched Samsung's Galaxy S5 with a large "powered by Android" emblem on the phone's splash screen.

According to the Verge, this is now a flat-out requirement for manufacturers that wish to include Google's popular services on a given product.

Meanwhile, the new requirement may just be a way to ward off any confusion among smartphone buyers.
