WT20: West Indies beat Bangladesh by 73 runs
West Indies thrashed Bangladesh by 73 runs in a group stage match of the World T20 here on Tuesday.
Setting 171 for seven on the scoreboard, West Indies bowled out Bangaldesh for 98 in 19.1 overs.
West Indian spinner Samuel Badree scalped four wickets while Krishmar Santokie picked up three to destroy the Bangladeshi batting line-up.
Andre Russell took two wickets for the Caribbean side.
Skipper Mushfiqur Rahim remained the top scorer for the hosts with his 22.
Bangladesh lost their first five wickets with 57 on the scorecard in 10.1 overs.
Earlier, riding on opener
Dwayne Smith's well made 72 runs, West Indies posted 171 on the scoreboard.
Chris Gayle (48) and Smith gave a terrific start to the current champions as the openers posted 98 runs on the first wicket partnership.
Smith, who was adjudged the 'Man of the Match', hammered 10 boundaries and three sixes in his 43-ball knock.
Al-Amin Hossain took three wickets for Bangladesh.
