Norwester cancels Rahul's Kolkata rally

Kolkata, Mar 25 : Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi's first rally in Kolkata ahead of the Lok Sabha polls was cancelled due to a norwester in the city on Tuesday.
Gandhi, however, reached the venue of the rally.
Climbing on to the dais, he waved hand at the party workers who had assembled there to listen his speech.
He climbed down the dais soon.
Gandhi earlier addressed a rally in Jalpaiguri district of north Bengal and said the Centre sends crore of money to West Bengal but it never reaches the people of the state.
"We send crores of rupees to Bengal.... It is your money.. The sad thing is the money never reaches you," he said.
Speaking on West Bengal, he said: "Unfortunately, Bengal has not progressed as desired."
Gandhi also attacked Trinamool Congress (TMC) government in the state and said: "It is sad to see the TMC government has done the same things for which it had fought against the Communists earlier."
He urged people to vote for the Congress in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
Gandhi also addressed a rally in Tripura.
