WABCO exhibits safety technologies

New Delhi, Mar 25 : WABCO Holdings Inc., a tier-one supplier of safety and efficiency systems to the commercial vehicle industry, recently demonstrated the industry leading safety and efficiency technologies at the T1 PRIMA Truck Racing Championship, here.
Tata Motors recognized WABCO as its Braking Technology Partner hosted the race on Mar 23, at the acclaimed Buddh International Formula 1 Circuit in Greater Noida.
Overall, six truck racing teams will competed in the T1 PRIMA Truck Racing Championship showcasing twelve of Tata Motors' state-of-the-art PRIMA Model 4038.S trucks.
All of the specially customized race vehicles featured a number of safety and efficiency technologies drawn from WABCO's extensive global portfolio.

Each race truck was equipped with a fully integrated compressed air system that includes WABCO's high-performance Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) alongside high-output compressor technology, advanced air processing systems and braking components.
WABCO combines its world-class braking components with advanced control systems to improve the response time and reduce the braking distance of vehicles.
In addition, WABCO's innovative high-output compressor technologies and air processing systems also improve the efficiency of vehicles by lowering their weight and fuel consumption.
WABCO's vision is to help significantly reduce the number of commercial vehicle accidents worldwide.
In a 2012 study, India's Ministry of Road Transport and Highways attributed 77 percent of road accidents to drivers losing control over their vehicles.
WABCO's innovative technologies such as Anti-Lock Braking, ESCsmart roll stability control, OptiDrive automated manual transmission and OnGuard collision mitigation are widely recognized by commercial vehicle manufacturers and fleet operators for their ability to improve driver effectiveness and road safety.
According to the officials, over the past five years, WABCO has helped to improve the safety of 25,000 petroleum and hazardous goods carriers in India alone by fitting them with the company's robust Anti-Lock Braking System.
