BJP denies Ahmedabad East ticket to Advani's aide

New Delhi, Mar 23 : After Jaswant Singh, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday denied the Lok Sabha polls ticket to party veteran LK Advani's loyalist Hiren Pathak to contest from Ahemdabad East constituency in Gujarat.

The party instead gave the ticket to contest from Ahmedabad East to Bollywood actor Paresh Rawal.

Pathak is the sitting MP from Ahmedabad East.

The BJP on Saturday released its ammended sixth list of candidates from Gujarat for the Lok Sabha election.

In this latest list, Paresh Rawal bagged the Ahmedabad East ticket replacing Hiren Pathak.

Earlier, the BJP denied the Barmer seat in Rajasthan to party leader Jaswant Singh, who wanted to contest the Lok Sabha elections from the constituency.

The BJP, in its sixth list of candidates, has instead given the ticket to Colonel Sonaram Choudhary .

Singh had reportedly told the BJP leadership that he wanted to contest from the Barmer constituency in Rajasthan.

He has been fielded from Dahod in Gujarat.

The BJP on Friday released the sixth list of candidates.
