In a rain-affected match, New Zealand beat England via Duckworth-Lewis method in a World T20 Group stage match here on Saturday.

Chasing England's 172 for six, New Zealand were 52 for one after 5.2 overs when rain stopped the play.

Brendon McCullum (16*) and Kane Williamson (24*) were at the crease at that point.

England had lost the wicket of Martin Guptill (11).

England earlier scored 172 for six in their 20 overs.

Moeen Ali remained the top scorer for the side with his 36.

Corey Anderson picked up two wickets for New Zealand.
