Netherlands beat Ireland by six wickets in World T20 Qualifying stage clash on Friday.


Chasing Ireland's 189 for four, Netherlands scored 193 runs by losing four wickets with 37 balls to spare.

Tom Cooper 's 15-ball 45 and Wesley Barresi struck unbeaten 40 which Netherlands reach the target.

Opener Stephan Myburgh top-scored for Netherlands with his 63. He smashed 7 sixes and 2 boundaries in his knock.

Netherlands got off to a good start with Peter Borren (31) and Myburgh adding 91 runs on the first wicket partnership.

Kevin O'Brien of Ireland picked up two wickets for Ireland.

Earlier, Ireland scored competitive 189 for four.

Andrew Poynter remained the top scorer for the side with his 57 runs off 38 balls. He hit four boundaries and equal number of sixes in his knock.

William Porterfield (47) and Kevin O'Brien (42*) made good contributions with their willows.

Ahsan Malik took two wickets for Netherlands.

Netherlands has qualified to the Super 10 stage of the tournament.
