As an anticipated product of the collaboration between Japanese automaker Nissan Motor and Datsun, Datsun Go was launched on Thursday at the Hyatt Regency, here.

Datsun Go was launched by John Kullu, General Manager, Marketing, Datsun India and Ajay Raghuvanshi, Vice President- Business Management, Nissan Motor India Ltd.

Datsun Go will soon hit the roads and give tough competition as the new entrant in the B plus segment automobile car scenario internationally.

Speaking on the occasion, Kullu took pride in sharing the heritage of Datsun selling about 20 million cars in 190 countries during the past eighty years.

He explained the unique favorable marketing condition for Datsun Go, found in high growth markets like India, Russia, etc., where first time car buyers look for affordability, family inclusiveness and social upgradation which the car assures in a complete package.

Durable, attractive, trustworthy...as the initials of Datsun imply, the face of the car is dominated by Datsun's distinctive and modern 'D- cut grille'.

Boastful of 2.5 metres length, 1.2 L engine, 5 speed MT transmission, 20-63 kmpl fuel efficiency the car includes features, some of which are hexagonal reflector, extended chrome, mobile docking station and high suspension linear damps to provide a smooth ride to even back seat passengers on unmotorable, bumpy roads.



The car comes in white, blue, red and silver colors respectively.

Raghuvanshi surprised the audience, bringing in a brand new red Datsun Go car to the platform.

He welcomed the onset of 21st century Datsun for Indian customers, the first to experience the car.

He anticipated that Datsun brand is to cover 50 percent of the automobile market sales this year.

Moreover, Raghuvanshi announced the launch of Datsun Go + by the end of 2014.

He said that the motive is to ensure high growth market customers have a car within their reach with the product generous, affordable Datsun Go.

He stressed on utilizing local resources to ensure the right products with right specification.

Datsun Go will be sold by above 120 outlets with a manufacture warranty of two years and an extended warranty of two years for buyers.

Raghuvanshi declared the price list of the three classes of Datsun Go which are Rs. 3,20,904 for D - Variant; Rs. 3,56,062 for A- Variant and Rs. 3, 80,230 for T- Variant, respectively.

The car was handed over to the first Datsun Go customer of Kolkata, Reshu Sharma and family.
