Belinda Clark becomes first woman to enter Oz Cricket Hall of Fame
Sydney, Jan. 20 : Former Australian captain Belinda Clark has reportedly become the first woman to enter the Australian Cricket Hall of Fame.
Clark, also the current director of CA's Centre of Excellence will be officially inducted with Mark Waugh at the Allan Border Medal on Monday.
She said that she was humble to be the first female inducted into the prestigious company and she knew with 80 years of history with women's cricket in the country, she certainly wouldn't be the last, news.com.au reports.
Waugh would be joining brother Steve as only the second set of brothers in the Hall of Fame behind Ian and Greg Chappell, the report said.
Meanwhile, Waugh and Clark share a special milestone, having played their first Tests and scoring centuries on debut a day apart in 1991, Waugh made 138 against England at Adelaide Oval on January 25 and Clark 104 the following day against India at North Sydney.
The report added that Clark is one of only four women to average better than 45 in Test and one-day matches and her 4844 runs are the most by an Australian and second of all time.
