Mamata assails BJP for creating fake 'NaMo NaMo' wave
Ruling out any truck with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday, punctured the BJP's proclamation of forming the next government at the Centre.
"Even before the BJP comes to power, there are some who have concluded as if Narendra Modi has already won the game to become as the next prime minister. The game is not easy, we cannot blindly take it for granted that the BJP is sure to form the next government. I have been a seven-time MP (Member of Parliament), hence, we understand it better as to who will form the government," Mamata said.
She also highlighted the BJP's shortcomings.
"The BJP has little presence in Odisha, Bihar ,Tamil Nadu, Bengal, Delhi and Punjab, and even in many more states. Therefore, as the polls near, you will see how the calculation of the BJP comes to naught," Banerjee said.
She vouched for a federal front and ruled out any possibility of either the Congress, the BJP or a Third Front forming any government. She also cautioned people not to give votes either to the Congress, the BJP or the CPI(M).
"This time neither the Congress nor a BJP-led government will come to power, it's the Federal Front which will rule the fate of this country. We are not for a Third Front, as they always get involved in bitter fights, and hence, provide no governance. We are for a stable government. We believe stability in all spheres be it political, economic or communal amity. This time do not vote for either the CPI(M), the Congress or, the BJP. If you vote for any one of them, then it is voting for all three of them," Banerjee added.
She said that the biggest strength of Bengal is its communal harmony, and also held out hope for her party emerging as a national party after the Lok Sabha polls.
"There is no difference in the colour of blood between a Hindu and a Muslim, we all are equal, hence we have to fight against the communal forces. We will never allow this country to be divided. They believe in dividing our state. Remember, that we are going to emerge as the third biggest force after the polls. We are already present in three states, we are just one more state away from becoming a national party," Mamata said.
