The film takes off when a wildlife photographer goes missing in the Sunderbans and his friend sets out in search of him.

Rituparna plays the role of a Jolbeshya, the head of the group of boat prostitutes, a woman of exquisite beauty and pleasure.

The film has some steamy dance numbers performed by Ritupana and Debleena, choreographed by Stanley D'costa

The music of 'Taan' has been composed by Indraadip Dasgupta.

'Taan' is slated to be released on Feb 7.
