Tennis icon Pat Cash has said he was embarrassed over crowd's behaviour, and criticised fans as being out of control at the Australian Open during Nick Kyrgios's loss to Benoit Paire.

Kyrgios's match against France's Benoit Paire did not start until after 10pm due to heat and lightning delays, and a packed house was in full voice throughout.

Cash said the crowd was absolutely going crazy, Cash said on Fox Sports.

He further said that umpire was not able to handle the situation.

Embarrassed Cash said a fair amount of the crowd had no respect whatsoever for a seeded French player, absolutely no respect.
