Emirates showcasing Airbus A380 in Hyderabad

New Delhi, Mar 12 : Emirates, a global connector of people and places, is showcasing its flagship Airbus A380 for three days at the fourth India Aviation 2014 Airshow in Hyderabad, which is started on Wednesday.

The popular double decker Airbus aircraft, standing over 24 metres high and with a wing span of nearly 80 metres, is be on display between Mar 12 - 14 at Begumpet Airport, providing special guests the opportunity to view its interior and experience Emirates' award-winning products in all classes of travel with a guided tour by Emirates' cabin crew.

On Wednesday, a special flight from Hyderabad to Begumpet Airport also gave spectators an opportunity to see the aircraft in flight in India as it performed a one-off flyover. Touching down at 11.48 am local time, it will now remain at the airshow until Friday.

Emirates' A380 has received excellent reviews from Indian travellers who have enjoyed the unique in-flight experience while flying on one of Emirates' 26 global destinations served by the A380 aircraft, the company said in a statement.

"Emirates' A380 is already popular among Indian travellers around the world connecting through our Dubai hub to one of our current 26 A380 destinations. In fact, many of our customers consciously select flights operated by an Emirates A380, because they simply love the experience. It is a quiet and efficient aircraft to operate, and onboard we have equipped it with the latest facilities to ensure travellers in all classes enjoy a superb travel experience. We look forward to expanding our list of A380 destinations as we continue to receive delivery of this aircraft," said Majid Al Mualla, Divisional Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations - Centre, Emirates.

"Our customers in India are eager to try our A380 services and we have worked closely with the Indian authorities to make this possible. Any decision to deploy an A380 on our network is dependent on passenger demand on that particular route as well as the ability of airports to handle the aircraft. We will be reviewing our existing operations, and look forward to serving Indian travellers with our flagship aircraft in the near future," he added.

Emirates' A380 static tour at the India Aviation Airshow will take the guests across the aircraft's two decks, giving them a real-life glimpse of the spacious seats and cabins in Economy Class, lie-flat seats in Business Class and the 14 luxurious First Class Private Suites.

Guests will also get to see the A380 Shower Spas and on-board Business Class lounge that are both fully set-up and equipped to portray an authentic inflight experience.
