Real Madrid maintains lead in La Liga following 3-0 Levante win
Real Madrid has maintained their top position in the La Liga title race with a ruthless 3-0 win against Levante.
Cristiano Ronaldo scored the opening goal of the match with the highest header in Angel di Maria's left-wing corner and Marcelo Vieira doubled Madrid's lead shortly after the restart
Vieira created space with a charming stepover and curled into the far corner, which was followed by David Navarro's dismissal reducing Levante to 10 men, the report added.
According to BBC, Madrid moved three points clear of Levante with Nikos Karabelas sliding into his own goal thus securing Madrid's win.
Madrid faced Levante knowing that the destination of the match was in their own hands as focus switched back to Madrid in a three-way title battle, which is showing no signs of loosing intensity following Barcelona's and Atletico's games on Saturday, the report added.
Madrid currently tops the leaderboard with 67 points followed by Atletico Madrid in second place with 64 points and Barcelona in third place at 63 points.
