Kolkata, March 9 (IBNS): Aam Admi Party (AAP) leader Pankaj Gupta on Sunday said it was disappointing to see social activist Anna Hazare supporting West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and her Trinamool Congress (TMC).

Addressing a press conference here, Gupta, who is visiting the state, said: "Sad to see Anna Hazare endorsing Mamata Banerjee and also campaigning for her party."

He said the AAP will not form alliance with any other party in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

"We are with Arvind Kejriwal. We will fight the election on our own and not in alliance with any other political party, " Gupta said.

Speaking on their election process, he said, "As the elections the heading, we need to decide the candidates from AAP. We have got around 300 applications. Members of AAP would check them and then they will be sent to the screening committee. After that the final name of the candidates would be decided."

"Our team was working on Delhi elections till December and we gave less attention to other parts of the country. I have come to Kolkata to see the progress in West Bengal. After December, the AAP is working a lot for the other states also and I feel that we can get around 8 to 10 seats in West Bengal. But for now our candidates are not yet decided," he said.

Attacking Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and his development model in Gujarat, Gupta said: "Arvind ji went to Gujarat to see the development model created by Narendra Modi. But during our investigation we found out that the model that Modi is showing to us is a big lie. There has been no development in Gujarat. Whereas our development model says that progress is only possible if we let the common people take decisions."
