Collingwood admits wouldn't get into Scotland's team now, let alone England
Former England one-day captain Paul Collingwood has admitted that he would not have had the necessary X-factor to get into Scotland's cricket team, let alone England's if he had been playing now.
Collingwood, who is on a seven-week stint assisting limited-overs coach Ashley Giles, is England's only World Cup-winning captain and helped Scotland qualify for the World Cup before his England call-up.
According to the Mirror, Collingwood, who led England to win the 2010 Twenty20 World Cup, said that he would not advise using the 'outdated' format of 2010 while contesting current World Cups as the game has changed a lot in the four years since they have won.
Collingwood further said that the current game is no longer the 'nudge-and-nurdler' kind of cricket that he used while leading England to their 2010 win, adding that had he been playing now, he would have no chance of getting into Scotland's team, let alone England's.
Collingwood however, said that England has got the necessary X-factor, aggressiveness and power to get hold of a World title given their increasingly higher scores.
