Fresh faces to ensure representative look: Mamata Banerjee
Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee Thursday said several fresh faces were inducted in her party's candidates list for the Lok Sabha polls to give it a representative look.
In a post on social networking site Facebook, Banerjee referred to the candidates list announced by the Trinamool for the 42 Lok Sabha seats in West Bengal, besides six constituencies in Tripura, Jharkhand and Manipur.
"Several new faces have been inducted to give our candidate list a truly representative look," she said.
Reigning Bengali matinee idol Dev, film personalities Moon Moon Sen, Sandhya Roy, Tapas Pal and Satabdi Roy, former Indian soccer skippers Bhaichung Bhutia and Prasun Banerjee, singers Indranil Sen and Soumitra Roy, and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's grand nephew Sugata Bose figure in the list of Trinamool Congress candidates announced by Banerjee here Wednesday.
Banerjee described Dev as "young and popular", while calling Roy and Sen "legendary" film actors.
"We need your support and cooperation. Banerjee also announced that the party would soon announce its candidates for other states and regions.
