Matthew McConaughey has revealed that he won't be reprising his role as cop Rustin Cohle on season 2 of HBO's 'True Detective'.

According to Mashable, the 44-year-old actor, who recently received the Best Actor Oscar for 'Dallas Buyers Club', said that the first season that had 8 episodes was finite.

The father-of-three, who co-stars opposite Woody Harrelson on the show, added that the show's writing was great and he knew he wanted to do the role of the homicide detective after reading scripts of just two episodes.
