West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday said the country is suffering from 'lack of leadership' and the people will decide the Prime Minister of the nation.

"Please don't consider me a candidate, I am a common citizen...People will decide who will be the PM, trust the voters," Banerjee told NDTV.

The Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo said: "The country suffering because of a lack of leadership."

Refusing to comment on Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Arvind Kejriwal, she said: "Respect Anna Hazare, don't know Arvind Kejriwal so won't comment on that..Anna Hazare has not asked me to tie up with anyone..I respect Anna Hazare because he knows what to say."

Anna Hazare, who came all out in support of Mamata Banerjee in New Delhi last month, said the West Bengal Chief Minister has potential to bring change in the country.

The TMC on Wednesday announced its list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
