The Border Security Force (BSF) deployed in South Bengal frontier on Indo-Bangladesh border, recently seized 6082.51 grams of gold worth approx Rs.1, 82,64,491, in the border area under PS-Swarupnagar in District-North 24 Pgns, and PS-Raninagar in Dist Nadia.

According to the officials, BSF has crossed many milestones in operational front during the month of Feb, 2014.

During the month of February, the troops of BSF seized Rs. 2,00,00 of FICN in the border area under PS- Kaliachak in District - Malda.

BSF further seized 47.45 Kgs of Ganja in the border area under PS Raninagar in District - Nadia and PS-Bhagwangola in District - Murshidabad.

Also, BSF seized 23593 bottles of Phensedyl a/v Rs. 21,16,149, in the border area under PS - Bongaon, Bashirhat, Swarupnagar, Bagdah and Gaighata in district 24 Parganas (North), PS - Hanskhali, Tehatta, Chhapra, Krishnaganj in Distt. Nadia, PS - Jalangi, Raninagar in Distt, Nadia and Bhagwangola in District - Murshidabad and Kaliachak, Raghunathganj, Baishnavnagar and Shamsherganj in District - Malda.

Besides above, the BSF troops deployed under South Bengal Frontier have seized other contraband items and cattle worth Rs. 4,04,36,267 and apprehended 212 Bangladeshi illegal migrants during the month of Feb 2014.
