Mobile dialysis unit launched in Kolkata

Kolkata:, Feb 27 : Health care service providers Dreamland Nursing Home introduced a mobile dialysis unit, "Dialysis On Wheels", in Kolkata on Thursday.
The unit is set up on a advanced ambulance platform.
Vimal Joshi, Director of Asthvinayak Healthcare Ltd, said, "With this facility, they (patients) will not be required to travel to the dialysis centers and then wait for their turn, thus saving them from a lot of agony and pain, while bringing in a lot of mental and physical relief as well."
He said the whole concept has been built around the thinking of making the dialysis a painless process both for the patient and their family members.
The air-conditioned Mobile Unit, built on an advanced ambulance platform, is fitted with the latest dialysis equipments, RO plant and has got ventilator, defibrillator, critical care monitor and other life saving equipment, and is powered by a backup generator power.
The services will be available in the city and within 20 km radius of the outer limits.
Patients will need to pay Rs 4000 for the service.
