A South African judge on Tuesday ruled that Paralympic athlete Oscar Pistorius' trial over the killing of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp last year could be partially televised.

The judge, however, ruled the athletes own testimony could not be televised, reports said.

Pistorius will go to trial in March.

He was charged with murder and illegal possession of ammunition following the death of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp in February last year.

He was granted bail on Feb 22, 2013.

Pistorius had admitted shooting dead Steenkamp, 29, while she was in the bathroom of his home on Feb 14. He claimed he mistook her for an intruder and denied a charge of premeditated murder.
