The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), the statutory body for regulation of Chartered Accountants (CA) in the country, has announced its campus placement programme from Mar 11 to Mar 15, here.


As many as 158 candidates, who have recently completed their chartered accountancy, are likely to participate in the campus placement programme here.

Some of the leading names of Indian industry, including Tata Consultancy Services Ltd., UTI Asset Management Company Pvt. Ltd., Credit Suisse Services India Pvt Ltd, MphasiS an HP Company, Indian Hotels Company Limited, Tega Industries Ltd. and Universal Sompo General Insurance Company Limited have confirmed their participation for the placement programme.

Commenting on the placement drive, CA Tarun Jamnadas Ghia, Chairman, CMII; CA. Abhijit Bandyopadhyay and CA Guha Sumantra, Chief Coordinator(s) of ICAI from Kolkata, said, "This is an excellent opportunity for top line Indian companies to recruit the finest minds in the accountancy space."

They added, "For budding chartered accountants, the campus placement programme means they can start their career on a high note and get exposed to managing finances of some of the biggest corporate and conglomerates. We expect a strong response from Indian corporate sector."
ICAI, through its Committee for Members in Industry (CMII), organizes the Campus Placement Program at 16 different locations in the country.

The Campus Placement Programme is held twice every year in February-March and August-September.

In 2013, as many as about 120 companies comprising of 220 Interview Panels participated in the Campus Placement Program during both the seasons across the country and as many as about 1600 candidates were offered jobs by leading Indian companies.

The companies, which hired Chartered Accountants in 2013, mostly belonged to industries like Information Technology, Financial Services, Oil & Gas Refining, Banking, BPO, Telecommunication, Mining, FMCG, Agro etc.

For Kolkata, 18 companies were part of the campus placement programme in 2013 and 84 chartered accountants were recruited.
